Nelson County is carefully monitoring the current conditions and weather forecast for the upcoming 4th of July holiday. If conditions necessitate additional regulation such as a fire ban, the County will inform the public through normal channels including the Nelson County website and social media. In the meantime, citizens are encouraged to use caution with any open flame during hot, dry conditions. The County also discourages the use of fireworks under these conditions unless extreme caution is used.
