The Core Group needs to hear from you! Nelson County encourages the community to participate in the following activities:
- Focus Groups: Starting in October, MAPP2Health will host up to 21 focus groups throughout the year to gather insights from diverse community members. These one-hour sessions, held in-person or virtually, are designed to understand barriers to optimal health. Participants will receive a $25 Food Lion gift certificate.
- We invite residents to complete the focus group interest form. The form along with promotional flyers can be found in multiple languages on the BRHD website.
- Community Health Survey: MAPP2Health has launched the Community Health Survey on the BRHD website, for residents ages 18 and older from Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, or Nelson. MAPP2Health’s goal is to have at least 500 responses by December 2024, ensuring we capture a wide range of health concerns. The Community Survey is one of three ways to gather information from folks in Charlottesville, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson County to determine the District’s health priorities for 2025-2028.

Your participation in the MAPP2Health process is essential as this collaborative effort, conducted every three years, aims to identify and address health needs that can advance health equity.
