Notice of Office Closing
All Nelson County courts, departments and offices will close today, September 27, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. (noon) due to the worsening forecast for heavy rain and wind, on top of the already oversaturated ground; which may cause flash flooding, downed trees and power lines. This closure includes the Registrar’s Office for early voting, the County’s Transfer Station and County Convenience Centers.
The Transfer Station plans to reopen on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 8:00 A.M. to 11:45 A.M., weather permitting. The Convenience Centers will also open for normal hours of operation on Saturday (7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.), weather permitting.
All public safety operations will continue to maintain regular hours of operation.
